Here is the thread where I was getting the mercenary info for the last game, just copy/paste the relevant bits.

Mercenaries
Septimius wanted to handle mercenaries slightly differently this time. So here's how it's supposed to work. There's one thread (this one), and the mercenary groups will get posted when they become available like last time. Since I'm not playing in the game this time, it's harder for me to check which groups are available, so I probably will not be maintaining the list. Since you can edit endlessly on this forum you can change the entries when they die off if you like. Anyway, discuss the mercenaries in this thread and if you intend to hire them, say so here with what you intend to offer for them.

Re: Mercenaries
Yeah, if your gonna bid just post, let everyone know who, how much (optionally which turn), so we don't compete with each other and tie up gold. Check the link in the first post if you need stats on each merc. No need to list all the mercs every turn, thats something you all can see in-game.

The Fishermen
It appears The Fishermen are up for grabs (turn 1), was thinking of taking em, but since I'm a couple of provinces from the coast yet, I think I'll wait. Though, they should probably be taken by our side at some point.

Re: Mercenaries
Putting in 249 on the Armoured Fist of God - true, I can't do much with the fire magic yet, but the expansion army could really help.

Re: Mercenaries
I've been retaining the Archers in White and Sonnenkinder(I think) for awhile now. They'll probably meet their end vs Niefel or Atlantis soon.

Re: Mercenaries
I'll probably bid on the Beast Brother or more likely the Master Druid, unless any of our more hard pressed noobs needs them. Let me know.

Re: Mercenaries
Personally I wouldn't bother with urgek beast brother, his mercs are about as chaffy as chaff gets. Unless you really want someone to patrol a province or you need a big group of decoys for something.

Re: Mercenaries
Yeah, I know, I was thinking of using em for possibly those reasons, maybe an attack against a lightly defended province or two. In any case they'd not live much longer under my term of service. I generally thought you had to kill off these early game mercs to get the later more useful ones, but I may be wrong about how that works. I'll probably bid for em, but I won't overbid by much.rdonj wrote:Personally I wouldn't bother with urgek beast brother, his mercs are about as chaffy as chaff gets. Re: Mercenaries
Well, getting mercs killed off does let different groups come out. But I thought the order they were available was more or less random. I've never really payed that much attention to the mercenaries though so I could be mistaken.

I think there's some mercenaries that show only later in the game (eternal knights) but I've never paid much attention myself.

Re: Mercenaries
I put in a bid of around 84 for Master Gibbur, I beleive he's the water mage and may be useful in an undersea province or just for research.

Re: Mercenaries
I could really use gibbur to forge some water cloaks and other sweet water gear for vandrott thugs. I put in a bid of 241 to try and make sure I get him. With him helping me out for a few turns, I can get he and amazon priestesses site searching. I also don't want him to fall into the hands of any vets.

Re: Mercenaries
I put in a rather large bid (perhaps too much) of 405 for Rexor's Barbarians to assist with recovering Formoria/repulsing Atlantis, if anyone thinks this is too much let me know.

I've bid 352 on Grom, if someone need him more, you can either outbid or place a lower bid and let me know so I can remove my current bid.

Re: Mercenaries
I bid 400 on the guy who is open right now, in an attempt to have him show up in front of my armies at Caelum's fortress. I'm hoping he shows up and soaks up a few thunder strikes.
