I'm currently planning to stay mostly with alteration and construction. Probably construction to 8 first to try and get as many artifacts away from vet hands as I can. I'm not a great researcher, but I'm able to forge mentors now. I've got plenty of 3E, 4E, 3A, and some 4A mages running around so these schools seem to be my bread and butter.

Is anyone racing to const-8 or 9 as well? I'd hate to see the vets get all the good unique artifacts or forge of the ancients.

Don't forget enchantment either. Earth blood deep well is there, if you or one of the other noobs gets that, you can pretty well guarantee the forge goes to your side. Also domes, arrow fend, thunder ward, MoD, etc. On the other hand, Fog Warriors would be very handy as well.

Good idea to split up or state research tasks, prevents us from researching the same stuff and effectively allows us to magnify or pool our research potential. Tranfering items, calling in strikes (as with the seeking arrows) is coordination at its best. Insofar as it practical. I've been mainly focusing on Alteration and Evocation, but then I generally raise all paths equally (probably because I don't know any better) or to match my rainbow pretender.

Well, after I reach Blood-7 I though of going to const-6 and then const-8.

I have access to some of the best artifacts (Chalice, Sceptre of Dark Regency, Sickle Whose ...).
If someone else can get them I could sidetrack into someother schools.

I've been getting whatever I feel I need next. So far I have a moderate specialisation in conjuration, alteration and enchantment (5 or so in each of those) plus const 4.

I'm going to aim for Alteration-6, for darkness, Construction-6, for items next, probably in that order.

After that, a bit of Enchantment, for lichcraft and such, then Conjuration for tartarians if I live that long.
