Yeah, but the Machakan spiders would eat the Bene Gesserit, so I'm not sure how applicable this is.

Why does everything always break down to the food chain?

I Imagine rdonj is trying to tell us to be more aggressive and not be so afraid of the vets.

if we let them control the flow of the game, and start pushing us, then we aren't probably going to come out of it well.

I tend to have the problem myself of not being aggressive enough, but since hoplo needs it, with the money I just received, I'm going to rush vanheim in a few turns. If you can push the vets, do it. don't let them come to you or sit on their border threatening them.

On the other hand, it depends on what your task is. My task is to occupy and distract Ashdod, not destroy him. As such, being threatening without actually committing to risky engagements is a good plan - I'm not there to take his land and women (although if the opportunity arises with minimal risk, I should certainly do so), I'm there to keep him from aiding Ermor.
